Come on over to Map Brewing Co. for a Ladies’ Backcountry Night with Friends of the Avalanche Center! GNFAC will be doing an informational talk and have invited several organizations to join the fun (Women of Winter, Sisters in Snow, and more)! Come mingle and meet other women who love to spend time in the backcountry!

Join us for a Christmassy afternoon at Map Brewing. We will have pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus, free gift bags for kids, Hot Chocolate with house-made marshmallows, cookies, and a Mexican Chocolate Stout for the adults. We hop you can join us, we have plenty of Christmas cheer to spread around!

Join us for an Avalanche Awareness Talk, a one-hour intro to backcountry basics covering avalanche terrain recognition, the effect weather has on avalanche hazard, the development of mountain snowpack, decision-making skills, and basic search and rescue procedures. Perfect for anyone curious about venturing into the backcountry and ready to start building a foundation for safe travel. 50 cents from each pint will benefit the Friends of GNFAC!

Ready to level up your avalanche rescue skills? We’ll kick off the night with a quick lesson / reminder of how to use avalanche rescue gear, then it’s game on! Race to find hidden beacons on MAP's lawn and see who can complete the search the fastest for a prize. Bring your own beacon if you have one.
