Art, history and community come together at the Virginia City Arts Show, a celebration of creativity held in one of Montana’s most distinctive historic communities. The inaugural event will span three days, Friday through Sunday, September 18th–20th, and will be held at the Virginia City Community Center.
The event welcomes twelve Montana artists for a weekend designed to connect visitors directly with the people, stories and creative processes behind their work. Participating artists include Allison McGree, Lynn Cain, Maren Stubenvoll, Sheri Jarvis, Jennifer Mathson, Mari Bolen, Miles Glynn and Chris Riccardo, among others.
The weekend opens Friday evening with an Opening Reception and Gala from 5–9pm, bringing artists, collectors and art enthusiasts together for the official launch of the show. Saturday expands the experience with the Arts Show from 11am–9pm, followed by the evening’s centerpiece, the Quick Finish Invitational at 6pm. During this special ticketed event, guests can watch artists create in real time while enjoying cocktails and artisan refreshments. Quick Finish attendees will also have the first opportunity to purchase the newly completed works.
The celebration continues Sunday from 11am–4pm, providing a final opportunity to explore the exhibition, meet participating artists and discover original Montana artwork.
More than a traditional art fair, the Virginia City Arts Show is envisioned as an immersive art experience – bringing artists, makers, students, storytellers, creative thinkers and art lovers together in a place where Montana history is present at every turn. With its historic buildings, wooden boardwalks and distinctive Old West character, Virginia City offers an especially memorable setting for a weekend devoted to creativity and connection.
