BOZEMAN — MontanaPBS has partnered with 12 Montana musicians to share songs recorded from the comfort of the musicians’ homes in an effort to unite communities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Live From Home: A Montana Music, Home Video Special” will air on MontanaPBS at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 14. It will also be streamed live on the MontanaPBS Facebook page and on montanapbs.org/live. The program will be rebroadcast at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 16.
The program includes music from Jack Gladstone, Tim Fain, The Lucky Valentines, Travis Yost, Naomi Moon Siegel, John Dunnigan, Melissa Forette, Philip Aaberg, Chris Cunningham, Erica von Kleist, and David and Deidre Casey. John Floridis, host of the Montana Public Radio program “Musician’s Spotlight,” will host and perform.
“John Floridis was key in making this special come together,” said Ray Ekness, director of the Broadcast Media Center in Missoula. “During this time of closures and cancellations, there were so many musicians that we wanted to connect with and celebrate as a state. This was our way of supporting our community through the celebration of musical performance.”
