Tiding audiences over until their next summer spread, Pine Creek Lodge continues to host indoor shows for those looking to visit their favorite venue. Events have moved inside but the music is as enjoyable as ever. Take a look at the upcoming acts.
On March 1st and 2nd, North Fork Crossing perform. Their genre resides somewhere in a strange untapped musical realm between traditional bluegrass, psychedelic rock, Americana and folk. The quintet are drawn to bluegrass reaching a younger generation, priding themselves on their unique sound being the “evolution of string band music.”
Enjoy a pair of shows by local four-piece Counting Coup on March 15th and 16th. With its rugged, rowdy and broken sound, the band draws audiences in with soulful leads and melodies while flattening the crowd with lyrics that range from gleeful to heart wrenchingly desolate. It’s a collaboration of joy, pain, suffering, understanding and plain old fun. Their debut release, aptly titled Rugged, Rowdy & Broken, is available now.
Check out the return of Cactus Cuts on March 29th and 30th. The five-piece Americana folk band draws inspiration from the harmonious melodies of the Milk Carton Kids and the virtuosic guitar stylings of Doc Watson. The band weaves together intricate acoustic arrangements, compelling storytelling and lush vocal harmonies that are the perfect musical combination of modern bluegrass and old-time Americana. Their new EP, Lies Are Sweet, released last summer.
And looking to a new month, local singer/songwriter Abby Webster performs for one night only on Friday, April 5th. Her songs blend alt-country, folk and bedroom pop elements, showcasing lyrics that are as whimsical as they are visceral. New singles “Calliope” and “Chickadee” are available now.
Advance tickets for these shows are available now, but space is limited. All music begins at 7pm. Please visit www.pinecreeklodgemontana.com to learn more about these and other upcoming off-season shows. •
