Yellowstone National Park is a nearly 3,500-sq.-mile wilderness recreation area atop a volcanic hot spot. Mostly in Wyoming, the park spreads into parts of Montana and Idaho too. Yellowstone features dramatic canyons, alpine rivers, lush forests, hot springs and gushing geysers, including its most famous, Old Faithful. It’s also home to hundreds of animal species, including bears, wolves, bison, elk and antelope.
Gardiner, the North Entrance to Yellowstone National Park, is easily accessible by automobile. From the north, take U.S. Highway 89 from Livingston, Montana. Follow the beautiful Paradise Valley along the Yellowstone River and you’ll come to Gardiner Montana, home to the historic Roosevelt Arch; where elk, bison, bighorn sheep, antelope, bear and dozens of other wildlife species roam in and out of Yellowstone National Park. Since 1880, family owned lodging, restaurants and shops have been welcoming wildlife and visitors alike.
To enter Gardiner from the south, or Yellowstone National Park, come through Yellowstone to Mammoth Hot Springs head down the hill 5 miles to Roosevelt Arch as you cross under the Arch- you are now in Gardiner Montana!
