Montana Weatherization Training Center
Our Mission
The goal of weatherization is to reduce energy costs for low-income families, particularly for the elderly, people with disabilities, and children, by improving the energy efficiency of their homes while ensuring their health and safety.
Here at the Montana Weatherization Training Center our goal is to train the professionals who are on the ground weatherizing homes every day. Working closely with Montana’s Human Resource Development Councils and our Tribal associates, we focus on safe, efficient, cutting-edge techniques to address the health, safety, and energy efficiency issues present in low-income housing. To learn more about the courses we teach, visit our Weatherization Program Training page.
The Montana Weatherization Training Center is part of the national Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) that is funded in part by the US Department of Energy. The program was recently evaluated for its effectiveness in reducing energy costs and improving indoor health for clients. A synopsis of the reports can be found HERE. The executive summaries of the evaluations and more information about the WAP program can be viewed HERE.
