These gorgeous, snow-covered mountains and valleys aren’t just something pretty to look at – get out and enjoy them! REI Bozeman continues to host FREE outdoors-based presentations this white spring. Here’s a look at a few of the upcoming courses.
On Wednesday, March 27th, Explore the Upper Missouri River Breaks National Monument from 6–7:30pm. Every year, the nonprofit Friends of the Missouri Breaks Monument organize and oversee volunteer events geared towards protecting and preserving this treasure in Montana’s public lands system. The Friends also dedicate a portion of their time to educate the public and bring awareness to the Monument and all it has to offer. Join in to find out how you can help, or just enjoy learning about the Monument!
Looking to next month, Canada to Mexico: Hiking & Biking the Continental Divide is set for Thursday, April 11th from 6–7:30pm. The Continental Divide Trail (CDT) is the premier ultra-long trail traversing 3,100 miles from Goat Haunt in Glacier National Park to the Crazy Cook Monument on the US/Mexico Border. The Great Divide Mountain Bike Ride runs 2,768 miles from Banff, Canada to Antelope Wells on the US/Mexico border. Race Bannon thru-hiked the CDT in 2015 and biked the GDMBR in 2017. He will provide an overview of his adventures and personal experiences on both routes and discuss the similarities and differences. Race will offer his advice for perspective thru-hikers and bikers, gear reviews, and news update on both trails. He’ll fill attendees in on the new ultra-trail, the Montana Trail 406!
