Norris Hot Springs is a place to soak and relax, but it’s also a great live music venue with a rotating schedule of performers. The first month of 2016 is no different! Chad Ball will perform on Friday, January 15th. Returning to the Poolside Stage, Chad’s shows include a mixture of acoustic Folk/Blues with catchy storytelling melodies. From Butte, he has a strong influence from 70’s folk/rock. Butte songwriter Sean Eamon comes to Norris on Saturday, January 16th. Sean gives an original twist to Americana and alternative country on acoustic guitar. Cosmic country folk artist Eddie Danger will take to the stage on Sunday, January 17th. Wisconsin’s traveling troubadour will be looping four-part vocal harmonies and instruments from around the world. Please welcome Eddie for his first stop at the Poolside Stage! Jeff Carroll will be on hand Friday, January 22nd. The Montana singer/songwriter’s music drinks deep from the well of Country Blues and American Roots tradition. It is clearly finding it’s own way down the hillside. Amber Ikeman will perform Saturday, January 23rd. As much a storyteller as a songstress, Ikeman speaks to the wandering spirit in all of us. Born in Canada, raised in Florida, and based in Bozeman, she recently released her debut album, “Free,” a collection of experiences from her 20,000 mile journey across the U.S. Her music includes flavors of new folk, americana, pop, blues, raw lyrics, and touches of unpredictable edginess. Lang Termes will hop on stage Sunday, January 24th. Lang Termes grew up with a visual artist father and spent summers touring with his puppeteer mother. He was surrounded by artists, musicians, writers, and performers of all descriptions from the day he was born. He has been playing professionally most of his life. His vocal style ranges from mellow folk ballads to growling boogie blues. Lang’s style of songwriting, both original music and lyrics, comes deep from the heart, or in some cases, bubbles up from his whimsical sense of irony. His selection of covers ranges from early country blues to the full gambit of contemporary classics. Lang plays music in a wide variety of styles. Some of his biggest influences include: Muddy Waters, Woody Guthrie, Bruce Springsteen, Eddie Vedder, Huddie (Ledbelly) Ledbetter, Townes Van Zandt, John Lee Hooker, Tom Waits, Greg Brown and Josh Ritter. James Salestrom will play for the Norris crowd on Friday, January 29th. Salestrom is a guitarist, singer, and songwriter originally from Arvada, Colorado. Now based in Big Sky, he performs his unique solo acoustic concert several times a week in the Big Sky and Bozeman areas. His love of blues and classic rock is apparent in his guitar playing, while a variety of other styles shine through his music as a whole. With an eclectic mix of both original and cover songs, his set is sure to have something for everyone! Tevin Apedaile will return Saturday, January 30th. Apedaile is a Montana local and plays acoustic contemporary folk pop. He draws sounds from the likes of Ed Sheeran, John Mayer, Johnny Cash, and Bon Iver. Tom Catmull will close out the month with a performance on Sunday, January 31st. Catmull has been writing, recording, performing, eating, and breathing music for about 15 years. The style of his music usually lands somewhere between the blurred lines of country, country swing, pop, and folk. Norris Hot Springs is located outside of Norris, Montana off of route 84. Every performance starts at 7 pm. Cover is $9 and includes a hot dip in the pool. •
