Harness competitive spirit on Bridger slopes this month
Bridger Bowl continues to sponsor slopeside events for the area’s competitive this winter. The Bridger Gully Freeride returns Saturday, February 15th at 10am. Participants are judged on degree of difficulty/line, control, fluidity, form/technique, and aggressiveness/attack with completion of run in three minutes or less.
Skiers and snowboarders 16+ pay $40 to compete. Pre-registration is required by noon on Feb. 14th with no race day registrations accepted. All competitors must arrive by 8am for a mandatory meeting in Jim Bridger Lodge. Also held in the Lodge, the award ceremony will take place at 4pm featuring medals, cash prizes, fantastic door prizes, and entry into the grand prize drawing. Bridger Creek Boys will provide live music, with beer promo by Sam Adams.
Looking ahead, the Terrain Park Jam is set for Saturday, February 22nd with race times from 11am–2pm. This two-run slopestyle competition features a variety of rails, rollers, boxes, banks and barrels.
The event is designed for skiers and snowboarders of all ages. The Jam is $15 for all registrants. Race day registration will take place in Jim Bridger Lodge from 8:30–10am. The award ceremony will take place at 4pm in the Lodge featuring medals, door prizes and entry into the grand prize drawing. Patrol Band will bring the live music. Inverted aerial maneuvers are prohibited during Bridger Bowl competitions. If under the age of 18, signature of a parent or legal guardian is required. Valid season pass or lift ticket required for competitors. Discounted lift rates available for competitors.
Bridger Bowl operates a FREE ski bus service to and from the mountain, with multiple pick-up times daily. Operating on Saturday and Sunday only, the Weekend Bus picks up at MSU’s Strand Union Building and the Gallatin County Fairgrounds (Oak entrance) throughout the entire ski season. Additionally, a special Holiday Bus will be in service on Feb. 17th. This bus will also pick up at the SUB and Fairgrounds. Please see website for detailed route schedules.
