Walking Sideways: An Insider’s Guide to The Rialto by Dalton Brink
Allow me to introduce myself.
My name is Dalton Brink and I’m the Artistic Director of The Rialto.
Between us, this new addition to the BoZone is not meant to be an advertisement, but a friend-to-friend recommendation as if we were belly up to the Burn Box bar and you had just asked me what events I’m most excited about. So, let me be your guide through the acts which pique my eclectic tastes and the reasons why we’ve invited them to Bozeman.
June 9 – Mitski with special guest Jessica Joyce
Mitski is a force. She’s one of the most moving solo acts out there today. If you’re into a masterful, haunting voice with lyrical content that will blow the top of your head off and expand your perception of the world, this is a show you should join me for. And Jessica Joyce… she may just be the most exciting singer/performer in Bozeman right now. When I first heard her perform only a couple months ago, I was honestly blown away. She has a voice and style all her own that is somewhere between Nina Simone and Jeff Buckley. Incredible.
June 10 – Magic Sword with Best Korea
I’ve been listening to Magic Sword since they were introduced to me by Best Korea, our local heroes right before the Stranger Things party we hosted back in January. With a rich mythology behind them, they play some of the best music in the outrun, synthwave genre. If you’re into dancing all night long to ‘80s synth soundtracks, I would not miss this. Think Tron and Stranger Things. Dress up and get down.
