A Bluegrass band at their core, the Steep Canyon Rangers will be jamming at the historic Ellen Theatre on Friday, August 12th. A remarkable mix of serious chops and good-natured fun earned the Steep Canyon Rangers a Grammy Award for Best Bluegrass Album in 2013, and drew the attention of celebrated comedian/banjoist Steve Martin, who frequently plays with the group. The sextet effortlessly walks the line between festival favorite and sophisticated string orchestra; they’re equally at home taking the stage at Carnegie Hall or knee-deep in a mountain brook, fly rod in hand.
Tickets to this harmonious jubilee are $26 and may be purchased at theellentheatre.com. Wine, beer and other refreshments, which may be brought into the theatre, will be served in the lobby beginning at 7 PM, with the music starting at 8 PM.
