BlueCross BlueShield of Montana, in collaboration with Realize Hope, have announced a melodic community event for mental health wellness. “Hope in Harmony” comes to Downtown Bozeman’s Ellen Theatre on Friday, October 23rd. The public event will feature performances by Kostas, Jason DeShaw and Paige & the People’s Band. Music begins at 7pm.
Musician and songwriter Kostas built his musical career from the Montana circuit before becoming one of Nashville’s most successful country songwriters. His songs have been recorded by artists including Patty Loveless, Dwight Yoakam, Travis Tritt and the Dixie Chicks, with hits such as “Timber, I’m Falling in Love” and “Blame It on Your Heart.” A longtime Montana artist as well as a prolific songwriter, Kostas was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2019.
Jason DeShaw is a nationally recognized mental health speaker and singer/songwriter from Montana. An accomplished musician, Jason’s career has taken him from small Montana towns to events around the world. Behind his success lies a deeply personal story of struggle – he came close to losing his life to mental illness and addiction. Today, he stands as a testament to the power of hope and recovery. His signature presentation, “Serenity in the Storm,” shares his journey of resilience, blending his life story with music to inspire others.
Horn-powered and vocally charged, Paige & the People are a mainstay in the Montana music scene, showcasing the sound of ’70s soul with a modern twist. The backup vocalists and horn section bring groups like Cold Blood or Sharon Jones and The Dap Kings to mind, but with a contemporary feel.

‘Hope in Harmony’ is free of admission and open to the public.
Based in Bozeman, Realize Hope’s mission is to bring hope and inspiration to those who face mental illness and addiction. The nonprofit strives to reduce mental health stigma by humanizing these illnesses, bringing understanding to a world in need. •
