PechaKucha returns to Ellen with pair of story-filled evenings 1
Dayle Hayes is set to describe the challenges and joys of living without a car in Bozeman, Kate Stoddard will explain why we should all be eating a lot more insects, and renowned environmental writer Todd Wilkinson will talk about the fascinating case of Grizzly Bear #399 and her generations of offspring.
Their stories highlight the next PechaKucha Night(s) at Downtown Bozeman’s Ellen Theatre, Tuesday and Wednesday, November 5th and 6th. The shows start at 6:40pm each night.
Other speakers include: Shane Mayer-Gawlik on Montana nightscapes and how to look at a galaxy from the inside out; Ritchie Boyd, with a humorous take on getting in touch with his Scottish heritage; Joel Ellefson on America’s great forgotten wildfire; and Austin Dayton on the future of public transportation in Bozeman.
Zuzana Gedeon will offer an ode to the many joys of cooking and eating lentils, Paul Byrne will sing the praises of talking to strangers, Robin Hill of Big Sky Youth Empowerment will describe the power of using art to reach out to kids, and Morning Star fourth-grader Ezra Graham will describe his composting project.
Emcee for the event is KBZK morning anchor, auctioneer and Bozeman personality and jokester Missy O’Malley.
PechaKucha (peh-chak-cha) offers anyone with a passion or a vision – designers, artists, inventors, architects, adventurers, entrepreneurs – an opportunity to share their ideas with the community during a social, fast-paced and friendly get together. There’s just one catch: presenters have only 20 slides x 20 seconds each, a total of 6 minutes, 40 seconds!
Presentations begin promptly at 6:40pm. Attendees are encouraged to come early and socialize. All seats are $9. Student tickets will be available for $5.50 at the door.
