Mike Beck & others perform at Livingston’s Attic
Just on the other side of the Bozeman Pass lies The Attic, an upstairs bar and performance venue in historic Downtown Livingston. The Attic is a MUST for dancers and live music lovers. Here’s a look at some of the upcoming acts.
Mike Beck brings his latest tour to The Attic on Friday, June 15th at 8:30pm. The engaging acoustic solo artist is regularly featured at the National Cowboy Poetry and Music Gathering. Cuts from his numerous original albums have been recognized as some of the finest Western Americana available. Reminiscent of Steven Stills, Beck is a seasoned performer. His guitar work and warm, genuine style engages audiences with his songs and stories. And according to Ramblin’ Jack Elliot, “Mike Beck plays the guitar like a Byrd. His strings do things that mine could never do. They obey the slightest finger-touch commands like a fine Reining Horse.”
Local group BLUB are back on Thursday, June 21st at 8pm. From the creator of Big Ol’ and Brown, this band of “alternative” performers is composed of Danny Bee, Bill Dwyer, Michael Gillian, and John Sanders.
Looking ahead, country/Americana band Tessy Lou & the Shotgun Stars bring their talents to the stage on Friday, June 22nd at 8:30pm. The band is comprised of Tessy Lou Williams (vocals, acoustic guitar), Kenny Williams (bass, vocals), and Bryan Paugh (fiddle, mandolin, and vocals). This trio was born to sing the songs that tell the story of life lived in the West. “C’mon Boys!” is the rallying cry of the band working its magic for all lucky enough to catch one of their shows. Check them out!
