Ahhh, October. The month where the angle of the sun, the turning of the leaves, and the brisk nights remind us of what’s coming soon—great nights at Norris Hot Springs! The autumn garden, or harvest for folks in these Mountain zones, often yields the most delicious produce of the year. Gone are the delicate berries, and now come the strong and wonderful flavors of the root vegetables. Stews, soups, bowls, and of course meats will also still be featured at the No Loose Dogs Café.
Please mark your calendars with the new hours at Norris. They’re open Thursday, Friday, and Monday from 4–10pm, then Saturday and Sunday from 10am–10pm. Closed Tuesday and Wednesday. The campground has closed for the season as well.
The music is cranking three nights a week and this month features a bonus night of music! A special show is set for Wednesday, October 5th with Jes Raymond & the Blackberry Bushes. A rare opportunity to enjoy music at Norris on a hump day! Raymond writes and sings songs that connect the day to day with the muses of wonder and myth. The Blackberry Bushes is the collective centered around those songs and her long time collaboration with fiddler Jakob Breitbach. The instrumentation is precise and improvisational. They are emerging as artists with an obvious love of performing, spot on chemistry, and a live show that truly aims to stir the spirit.
