Books may be at the heart of our local public library, but a special fundraising event is about much more than what fills the shelves. The Library Gala, “Black, White & Read All Over,” will be held Saturday, October 10th, at 5:30pm in MSU’s SUB Ballroom.
Hosted by the Bozeman Library Friends & Foundation, the event brings the community together for an evening of food, drinks, entertainment and fundraising. The annual celebration offers an opportunity to enjoy an evening out while supporting the programs, resources and spaces that help make the library a gathering place for the entire community.
Gala highlights include live auction with Missy O’Malley, a Book Pull activity with a chance at gift cards for local businesses, the Paddle Raise for the Library, and a Big Announcement to be revealed during the event.

More than a place to check out books, the Library provides opportunities for learning, creativity and connection for people of all ages. From children’s programming and summer reading to author events, educational resources and community gatherings, the Library continues to expand its role alongside a growing Bozeman. Funds raised through the Gala help support initiatives that go beyond what public funding can provide, strengthening the venue’s ability to serve local residents.
The evening also serves as a chance for supporters, community members and friends to come together and celebrate the institution’s impact. As Bozeman continues to change, the Library remains a welcoming place where people can discover something new, connect with others or find a quiet space to read and learn.
Whether you’re a longtime Library patron or appreciate the role libraries play in thriving communities, the Gala offers a festive way to give back while enjoying an evening with fellow Bozemanites. It’s a celebration of books, learning, community – and the enduring idea that a great library belongs to everyone.
