Note: the “artist reception” will be more of a weekend-long open house, beginning Friday morning and running through the weekend during gallery hours.
The EXHIBIT:
Green Door Gallery is pleased to present Chaos, new works by Carla Pagliaro. The show includes paintings containing elements of everything Pagliaro has done over the past fifteen years. Her approach is first to paint realistic elements and then proceed to obliterate a lot of what she has painted, creating a more and more abstract work. Often, her favorite and most time-consuming areas need to get painted out, something she finds to be very satisfying. Of the process, Carla says:
“It’s liberating not to get too attached or precious about it. They are chaotic, because in these times that’s just what comes out. But, of course, it has to be coherent chaos, and that’s the tricky part. A lot of them are also pretty bloody. I’m not sure where that’s coming from, but it feels right so I don’t question it.”

Green Door Gallery celebrates the work of regional artists and a culturally engaging experience for the viewer. It is located in the heart of historic downtown Livingston, Montana in the old Chatham Building. As a member of the Livingston Gallery Association, Green Door participates in the 4th Friday Art Walks each month June through September as well as the Holiday Art Walk in November and events year-round.
