Have a laugh or several when Downtown Bozeman’s Ellen Theatre hosts a one-off show by comedian Gary Gulman on Friday, May 17th. Performing in Southwest Montana as part of his “Misfit” tour, the event begins at 8pm.
With over 25 years in comedy, Gulman has established himself as one of the most popular touring comics, selling out theaters around the country including prestigious Carnegie Hall. Gulman has four masterful TV specials including the acclaimed stand-up special for HBO, “The Great Depresh,” a tour de force look at mental illness – equal parts hilarious and inspiring. Most recently, he can be seen co-starring with Amy Schumer in the hit Hulu comedy series, Life & Beth.
The New York Times proclaims, “Gary is finally recognized as one of the country’s top comedians.”
Returning to the Ellen for an evening of hilarious stand-up, he will elaborate on his new book misfit: growing up awkward in the ‘80s. Chock-full of eighties nostalgia, this is no ordinary book on growing older and growing up. Gulman has an astonishing memory and takes the reader through every year of his childhood education with obsessively detailed stories that are riotously funny. As we meet his neighbors, teachers, heroes and antagonists, we get a portrait of a young comedian who is often his own worst enemy. The book is available for purchase now.
All seats are $49 plus fees. Wine, beer and concessions will be sold in the lobby one hour before the show. Ticketing and further information about other upcoming happenings is available at www.theellentheatre.org. For additional inquiries, call the box office at (406) 585-5885. •
