CHRIS CUNNINGHAM & FRIENDS
On Sunday, December 11, The Bozeman Folklore Society will once again join forces with Bozeman City Parks and Recreation to present an evening of acoustic music in the lovely and historic setting of the Story Mansion. This time we are pleased to present an extraordinary talent, singer-songwriter Chris Cunningham in concert.
The doors will open at 6 p.m, and the music will commence at 6:30. The Story Mansion is located at 811 South Willson Avenue, in Bozeman. Genearal Admission is $20. Advance ticket purchases are available for $17, at Cactus Records, 29 West Main Street or online at www.cactusrecords.net. For more information, call Bob Wall (406) 587-7846, or Rik James (406) 586-4123. Please visit www.bozemanfolklore.org for all BFS concert and dance information.
Singer/Songwriter Chris Cunningham is a member of the acclaimed duo, Storyhill (Prairie Home Companion, Mountain Stage, Kerrville New Folk Songwriting Competition winner), and a native of Bozeman.
His lyrically and emotionally driven songs, often written from self reflection and thinking about other’s lives, come from an open heart that ultimately aim to move listeners to new adventures, hope and inspiration.
Chris writes songs about family, travelers, snowplow drivers, spiritual growth, volcanoes and old flames, and the natural beauty of Montana. He’s been making and releasing albums for 25 years and recently released a new solo EP “If You Knew All Along”. His CD’s are also available at Cactus Records.
Joining Chris for this special concert at the Story Mansion are some of Bozeman’s finest musicians: Megan Makeever on flute and harmonies, Amy Leach on violin and Mason Tuttle on mandolin and upright bass.
Chris is the owner of Basecamp Recording where he produces professional recordings for singer/songwriters, bands and voice over talent from all over the US. He also performs periodically with other Montana artists Tom Catmull, Jim Averitt, and Tom Murphy and was recently invited to play on the 13th season of the award-winning Montana PBS show “11th & Grant with Eric Funk” which airs in February, 2017.
The BFS concert series is unique in our area, The Bozeman Folklore Society (BFS) is an all volunteer, non-profit organization dedicated to promoting, preserving, enjoying and sharing the music, dance, arts, crafts, and skills of traditional cultures. The BFS is an associate group of the Country Dance and Song Society (CDSS). And we invite you to join and become involved with our effort to continue to present live music and promote dancing in our community. Volunteers are needed, as well as your support to continue to share our love for all the richness in the folk traditions. Visit the BFS website at WWW.BOZEMANFOLKLORE.ORG. As an underwriting supporter of radio KGLT-FM, BFS invites community members to listen to KGLT and other listener supported radio for more news about BFS sponsored events.
