The familiar bone-chilling cold of a Montana winter is best remedied with a soak in the natural waters at Chico Hot Springs. The local resort offers accommodations for overnight visitors and features regular entertainment in the Saloon. Check out the upcoming live music schedule.
Rock, rhythm & blues artists Gary Small & the Coyote Brothers perform December 13th and 14th. If you love blues, rockabilly, surf, and plain ole good times music, then you’re in the right place – they’re known as “Purveyors of Good Boogie Music.” The Coyote Bros are a diverse band defined by its rockabilly, blues, cajun, surf, reggae, and anything else they deem cool.
Also on Dec. 14th, the resort hosts A Chico Christmas from 9am–5pm. Enjoy festive activities, exclusive discounts, and the chance to win exciting door prizes. As the day winds down, join for a Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony, accompanied by carolers spreading the magic of the season.
Events will include Christmas yoga at the spa and a wreath making class at 10am (book latter through Deep Creek Outdoor), Christmas stories by the fire at 10am, noon and 4pm, a sip & paint class at 2pm (book through Deep Creek) with tree lighting and carolers set for 5pm. Western dress-up photo fun will be held at the Horse Barn throughout the day.
A special Sunday show Dec. 15th features Pickin’ Pear at 7pm. They combine their non-traditional stylings and traditional instruments to create an original mix of modern American music. The duo takes the banjo and ukulele down the road of folk, rock and bluegrass.
Veterans of the local live music scene, Brandon Hale & the Dirty Shame are back at it on Dec. 20th and 21st. The outlaw country band has been a staple of the Montana live music scene for decades, known for their cutting originals and unique spins on songs by the likes of Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings and Johnny Cash, among others. They released a new album aptly titled The Dirty Shame last year.
Check out Roadrunner on Dec. 27th and 28th. Featuring guitarist Tyler James, Andrew Miscoe on keys, drummer Bob Johnson, and bassist Max Eaton, the foursome brings the music of the Jerry Garcia Band to life!
Bird Dog Brian Kassay brings a solo Sunday performance on Dec. 29th at 7pm. The local musician mixes guitar, violin, keyboard and harmonica in creation of his unique, live-looping performances.
The Dirty Shame return to the Saloon on Dec. 31st for a special encore show on New Year’s Eve. Ring in ’25 with a night of celebratory outlaw country.
Live Saloon music begins at 9pm, unless otherwise noted. Chico Hot Springs is located in Pray, 20 miles south of Livingston. For more information, visit www.chicohotsprings.com. •
