Though the elements have been less than generous this year, recent snowfall is allowing for late season recreational opportunities at the locals’ hill, Bridger Bowl. Take part in some alpine competition to show off your conditioned form. Here’s a look at what’s coming up.
First up, Bridger’s remaining Community Dual GS Series events, rescheduled from earlier this season, are open to citizen racers of all ages and boards – alpine skis, tele skis or snowboards. Compete against your friends! Take one run on the blue course and one run on the red course. Best of two timed runs. Upcoming races are set for March 2nd and 3rd.
A full weekend of competitive action is set for March 9th and 10th with the Slushy Slalom. Best of two timed runs on the banked slalom down the natural gully below Slushman’s Ravine. Snowboarders on Saturday and skiers on Sunday.
The Molly Hayes Spring Equinox GS is set for Saturday, March 16th. Open to skiers and snowboarders. One run on the blue course and one on the red. Best of two. Finish out the season a champion! The annual Grand Prize Drawing for those who participated in this season’s Community Event Series will follow in Jim Bridger Lodge with beer promotion by Bayern Brewing and live music courtesy of Savvy.
Ride & Seek brings on-snow scavengers out on Sunday, March 17th. Hunt for checkpoints around the mountain, fill up your card and present to the events crew for a chance to win door prizes. Participation benefits the Bridger Bowl Foundation, for which the event has raised $25,830 since 2020!
Annual benefit Carve Out Hunger will take place Saturday, March 23rd. Donate 15 cans of food and receive a voucher for a $25 lift ticket valid through the end of the season. You’ll also be entered to win an Adult Season Pass for the 2024-25 season! The event has collected a total of 36,321 pounds of food since 2013. All donations benefit the Gallatin Valley Food Bank.
