Welcome to the Bridger Raptor Festival
October 6 – 8, 2017

The Bridger Raptor Festival is an annual event held in early October in and around Bozeman, Montana. The festival, which is free to the public, centers around the largest known Golden Eagle migration in the United States. Since 1991 a raptor migration count has taken place every fall at the Bridger Bowl ski area in the Gallatin National Forest just north of Bozeman. Festival activities center around raptor viewing and include nature walks and talks, educational and entertaining programs and activities for people of all ages.

The The Bridger Raptor Festival is sponsored by CRH Trident and Bridger Bowl. It is hosted by the Museum of the Rockies, the Bridger Bowl Foundation, Custer Gallatin National Forest, the Montana Raptor Conservation Center and the Sacajawea and Montana chapters of the Audubon Society.

The Eagle Huntress follows the story of Aisholpan, a 13-year-old Kazakh girl from Mongolia, as she attempts to become the first female eagle hunter in twleve generations to compete in the eagle festival at Ulgii, Mongolia. Through breathtaking aerial cinematography and intimate verite footage, the film captures her personal journey while also addressing universal themes like female empowerment, the natural world, coming of age and the onset of modernity. The film was directed by Otto Bell and executive-produced by Morgan Spurlock and Daisy Ridley, who served as narrator. It was shortlisted for an Academy Award for Best Docmentary Feature and was a BAFTA Award nominee.
