Women’s Center talks: eating & body concerns, unorthodox birth control
The Montana State University Women’s Center will present Sack Lunch Seminar “FEEL: A Supportive Team Approach for Eating & Body Concerns,” on Wednesday, February 27th from noon–1pm in SUB 168.
Fronting this afternoon lecture will be members of the Flexible Eating and Empowered Living (FEEL) team, an interdisciplinary group consisting of staff from MSU’s University Health Partners working together to improve support for students with eating and body concerns. This presentation will include a panel discussion, Q&A portion, and student voices.
Sack Lunch Seminar, “‘Unorthodox’ Experiences of Birth Control,” follows Wednesday, March 6th from noon–1pm in SUB 168.
Join Cristina Pop, an MSU instructor, for a look at her research on birth control use among Christian Orthodox women in Montana. When it comes to reinterpreting the church’s teachings about reproduction in the light of the practicalities of life, Orthodox women from Montana work around the meaning of birth control from within a non-secular perspective.
The MSU Women’s Center is a department in the division of Student Success and was created to promote greater responsiveness to the needs of university women. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 9am–4pm during the academic year, when classes are in session. Lectures are FREE and open to the public.
