Hot Springs features Winter Showcase, regular sonic soaks
Find out why Bozeman Hot Springs has been dubbed “Your New Favorite Place to Be” with a trip out to the utopian soakers’ hub. The local destination for residents and visitors is also home to weekly live music from the outdoor stage. Regional and traveling musicians perform on regular Thursday and Sunday nights at 7pm. Here’s a look at who’s coming up, starting with a special event.
Opening the final month of 2019 is the 3rd Annual Hot Springs Winter Showcase on Sunday, December 1st beginning at 6:30pm. Highlighting some of the best young bands and choirs in the Bozeman area, this event is perfect for getting everyone into the holiday spirit. The roster will feature three bands this year: the R&B funk of MSU’s Safety Katz, Belgrade High Jazz Band and Rhapsody A Capella. Please note the change in start time. The Showcase will begin later than previously announced.
Kristin Lundell takes the stage on Thursday, December 5th. The local singer/songwriter and guitarist performs catchy, melodic rock originals inspired by the likes of Veruca Salt, Juliana Hatfield, and The Beatles. She’ll also have the audience singing along as she puts her spit on hits that span the decades.
Swamp Dawg follows on Sunday, December 8th. Rocking the Bozeman area for the past couple of years with their “Swampy Southern Soul and New Orleans-style Funk,” the band is dedicated to making crowds groove and sing. The members – bringing vocals, multiple guitars, drums, bass, and keys – come from all over the country, but converged in Bozeman with an awesome, funky sound similar to the jazzy style of music that can be found in the Big Easy. Sure to make everything a bit funkier, Swamp Dawg is going to be putting on an amazing show at the Hot Springs.
Of the newer faces on the Bozeman music scene, JEB perform on Thursday, December 12th. The three-piece indie rock group specializes in making people dance. Bringing their unique indie-pop and hip-hop inspired sound to the Hot Springs, this trio will provide the perfect warm-up for a chilly winter night.
Returning to Southwest Montana is Brooklyn-based Charles Ellsworth on Sunday, December 15th. The Arizona native has been playing his brand of bluesy Americana country music all over the map for many years. With music that’s been referred to as “a triumph for American songwriting blending outlaw grit with a raw streak of self-awareness,” Ellsworth is praised wherever he goes. Playing with a trio, his acoustic sound will be accompanied by drums and a bass making this a can’t-miss performance for any country fan.
