Nashville’s Wild Ponies trot into town for Live season opener
Celebrating the lineage and contemporary voice of the American Roots singer/songwriter, Live From The Divide opens its season with a fantastic kick-off show next month. Wild Ponies perform on Tuesday, April 2nd at 9pm. Tickets are $20 plus fees. Doors at 8pm.
Although they’re based in Nashville, the duo has always looked to Southwest Virginia – where bandmates Doug and Telisha Williams were both born and raised – for inspiration. There, in mountain towns like Galax, old-time American music continues to thrive, supported by a community of fiddlers, flat-pickers, and fans. Wild Ponies pay tribute to that powerful music and rugged landscape with 2017’s Galax, a salute to their traditional roots that also explores new, progressive territory. It’s an album about the pieces of our past that stick with us, informing our present while pushing us toward a future. An album about a town, a country, and a world that’s forever spinning toward something new. An album that redefines Wild Ponies’ sound, while highlighting influences that have always rested just beneath the surface.
The new Live season will also see performances by The Black Lillies, Sean McConnell, Charley Crockett, Timmy the Teeth, Wayne “The Train” Hancock, Jamie Lin Wilson, Rob Baird, and many more to be announced.
Tickets are sold at the door, but these small shows are known to sell out quickly! Advance tickets are available at www.livefromthedivide.com where you can also find a complete list of upcoming shows. The Live studio is located at 627 E Peach St. in Bozeman. •
