Twice weekly concerts spotlight regional musicians at Hot Springs
Bozeman Hot Springs is a destination for locals and their soak-loving families, but the venue is also home to weekly live music from the pool-adjacent stage on regular Thursday and Sunday nights beginning at 7pm. Here’s a look at who’s set to perform.
Edis & the Incredibles take the stage on Thursday, May 16th. She’s been playing music in the Bozeman area for over 30 years as a solo act and with a variety of bands. Believing in the transformative and healing power of music, Edis plays a unique blend of folky, bluesy tunes that can appeal to any audience. Playing with some of Bozeman’s finest musicians, Edis will bring her trio to the hot springs to entertain music-lovers of all ages.
Reckless Abandon follows on Sunday, May 19th. New to the local music scene, these guys keep the blues alive. A groovy four-piece blues/rock/jazz fusion band, this four-piece provides an amazing show of blues and classic rock covers paired with some originals. The boys Abandon will bring a great time for the Hot Springs audience.
Wyoming-based duo Jay Alm & Lazy Susan strum up the entertainment on Thursday, May 23rd. Combining elements of blues, funk, and more, Alm brings a sound similar to the likes of the Black Keys or White Stripes, if either were acoustic-based. Presenting a genre deemed “garage soul from Jackson Hole,” he’ll be joined by fellow Cowboy State musician Lazy Susan for a fun, acoustic duo rock show for all ages.
The original country-rock style of Bozeman’s Dead Yellers brings a true Montana sound to each and every performance, including their show at the Hot Springs on May 26th. Founded by frontman Peter King, the band’s music follows a theme of courage in the face of adversity delivered in an upbeat, western roots format, ultimately leaving the audience feeling hopeful and happy. Sometimes joined by fiddle, pedal steel, bass, and harmonica, this group always brings something unique to their shows, with each sounding different than the last.
Helena native Aaron Williams closes out another month of live music on Thursday, May 30th. Growing up in a musical family, his parents introduced him to a range of Western, bluegrass, and fiddle tunes. He’s now the lead singer and guitarist of local reggae band, In Walks Bud. His solo shows blend rock and reggae for an energy-fueled performance that still maintains the mellow sounds of his craft. Williams will be sure to wow the soaking crowd.
On Sunday, June 2nd, Ryan Acker returns to the Hot Springs stage for a solo performance. He lends his banjo-playing talents to Minnesota-based Americana powerhouse The Last Revel. Acker is known to provide a wide variety of stringed instruments and soulful vocals at every show. Don’t miss it!
