Science Center hosts brainy family fun, open STEAMlab hours Fun and learning come standard at the recently minted Montana Science Center, and the early summer event calendar is bursting with activities for area youth and their families. Here’s a look at some of the upcoming happenings.
Enjoy the next Preschool Performers event on Monday, June 10th, from 10:30–11:30am. Bozeman community members will share their talents, skills and the “Science” behind their music or art. This morning showcase is ideally for children 2 to 5 years old.
Another FREE Friday Night is set for June 14th from 5–8pm. The public is invited to enjoy the Science Center’s exhibits free of charge during this monthly event. Pizza will be available for $1 a slice, courtesy of Tarantino’s Pizzeria. Bring the whole family down for some educational fun!
Celebrate International Women in Engineering Day on Saturday, June 22nd from 11am–2pm. Join for activities, experiments and engineering tasks with local women who contribute their many talents to the field.
On Monday, June 24th, Preschool Explorers will be held from 10:30–11:30am. Experiment with simple science and make a craft with your little ones. The monthly theme will connect with a lively storytime. This is a stay and play event for children 2 to 5.
Also at the Science Center this summer… Open STEAMlab Hours with events recurring weekly. Connect with Bozeman’s community of youth makers. All available tools will be at your disposal with Arduinos, Raspberry Pis, 3D printers, and more – plus, a resident expert on-hand to help out. Open lab hours take place Mondays from 3–5pm, Tuesdays from 4–7pm, Fridays from 10am–noon, and first and third Saturdays from 10am–noon. Please note: Open STEAMlab hours are subject to change.
The innovative STEAMlab program offers personally relevant project-based learning opportunities to kids with the aim of bolstering interest and expertise in 21st century skills. Come enjoy the STEAMlab as part of your Science Center experience.
