The beautifully situated and renovated Pine Creek Lodge has reopened in Paradise Valley with an extensive slate of live music to keep guests and others entertained through the summer. To top it all off, you can catch a FREE ride to the show! ‘
The Pine Creek Lodge shuttle holds 40 people and will be making two round trips from downtown Livingston to Pine Creek Lodge for almost every show. Pick-up times and locations are as follows: Neptune’s at 5:30pm and 7pm; Park & Main at 5:35pm and 7:05pm; Pine Creek Bridge Parking at 5:55pm and 7:25pm; and KOA at 6pm and 7:30pm. Shuttles will reach Pine Creek Lodge at 6:05pm and 7:35pm. Shuttles will leave Pine Creek Lodge at 10:30pm and 11:35pm to drop-off riders on the reverse route. Parking is extremely limited, so the best option is to park at the Pine Creek Bridge and take the shuttle. Here’s a look at some of the upcoming music set to keep summer lively! All shows take place outside, on the main stage unless otherwise noted. Shows will go on rain or shine.
The Memphis Strange will perform, Friday, August 5th at 8pm. They are a rock & roll, cosmic country, boogie, rhythm, and cut-loose blues band out of Austin, Texas.
Taking inspiration from equal parts Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, The Rolling Stones, The Allman Brothers Band, The Grateful Dead, The Band, and Neil Young, the group is at home onstage in front of rednecks, hippies, bikers, doctors, lawyers, politicians, secessionists, unionists, anarchists, and even babies—often enough all at the same time. Their debut album, Birth of The Strange, was so loved that the fellas have made a new one called Leche Para Dos, which will be released in the fall of 2016. Tickets to this show are $5. Food from Follow Yer’ Nose BBQ will be featured during this event. Sean Devine will provide the tunes, Wednesday, August 10th at 7pm. The Montana born and raised singer-songwriter has toured across the U.S. and abroad many times over, playing in all of America’s music capitols—from Nashville’s Bluebird Cafe to Austin’s Saxon Pub to New York’s Bitter End, and from London’s Soho Theater all the way to The American Pub on Innismore in the Aran Islands of Ireland. This is a free show and will feature a beer garden.
Mandy Rowden will follow with a performance, Thursday, August 11th at 7pm. The Austin, TX-based singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist has been compared to Lucinda Williams, Kim Richey, and Stevie Nicks, to name a few, and her latest album These Bad Habits was voted #2 Album of the Year in the Austin Chronicle Music Poll. This is a free show and will feature a beer garden.
Joey Fender and The 55’s will bring the noise, Friday, August 12th at 7:30pm. This group fires up licks of hotrods, slicked hair and original rebellion, performing blues, rock-a-billy, and outlaw country rolled into “ROCK-O-LA.” They have toured the country over the course of two decades, and released nine albums. Joey is currently in production of a full-length film featuring his debut as an actor, director, and screenwriter. With his undying love of the blues and the drive of punk rock, he wields his guitar to an unmistakable tone of his own. Take the ride of revved up dynamics. Experience an energy that fills the room, lingers in your mind, and stirs excitement in your soul. Tickets to this show are $5. Continues on page 8C Cool McCool & the Spies will perform, Saturday, August 13th at 8pm. They are a rhythm and blues band from Livingston. The group is comprised of David Sullivan (guitar), Matt McCool (vocals, harp), Bruce Little (drums), John Morford (bass), Matt Ridgeway (keyboards), and Joseph Erickson (sound). Tickets to this show are $5. Food from Follow Yer’ Nose BBQ will be featured during this event. Hogan & Moss will take the stage, Sunday, August 14th at 7pm. Jon Hogan has been a full-time folk musician for almost twenty years. He grew up in the American West, immersed from childhood in traditional American mountain, gospel, and country music. At age 14, he was playing guitar at bluegrass gigs near Salt Lake City. By 20, he was writing songs and studying old-time mountain music in earnest. Over the past two decades, he’s written hundreds of original ballads, love songs, and waltzes rooted in his love of traditional music. He’s also become an engaging speaker on the history of mountain music, helping listeners understand the difference between old-time music and bluegrass, and illustrating old-time’s connection to modern popular genres. This is a free show and will feature a beer garden.
