That’s a wrap! Bid decade adieu with local celebrations
The new year is a time of reflection and optimism, a chance to recharge and reset for the months ahead. But before we can be expected to tackle various resolutions, New Year’s Eve is an opportunity to celebrate the close of another chapter. Here’s a look at some area festivities.
Those looking for an early celebration may enjoy the stylistic versatility of Rich Mayo at the Kountry Korner Café in Four Corners beginning at 6pm. Fellow guitarist and vocalist Aaron Banfield sets up at Bozeman Taproom, or bring the whole family to the Alcohol & Drug-Free New Year’s Dance at Belgrade’s River Rock Community Center. Both begin at 7pm.
The spirited gatherings kick into gear for the late night set at numerous venues around the area, all at 9pm. In Bozeman, BlueBelly Junction bring their “rockabilly” to the Eagles, while the Filling Station hosts a PermaFunk-assisted MOTH barn burner heavy on the powerhouse electro jams. And at the Rialto, Left on Tenth present a night of retro rambunctiousness with their “20/20 Back to the Future New Year’s Eve.”
A Rocky Mountain Pearls show is always a blast, and their end-of-year clincher at Three Forks’ Sac Bar shall be no different! All the way over in Paradise Valley, Chico Saloon rings in the New Year with The MAX. If you’re waiting for the ball drop in Livingston, catch the Dead Yellers at the Murray Bar downtown. And betwixt its firework displays at 8pm and midnight, Big Sky Resort welcomes psych rock band Dammit Lauren & the Well to Montana Jack.
Additional information about these festivities and other upcoming events can be found throughout the Dec 15th issue of The BoZone. Cheers to 2020 – Happy New Year, Bozeman! •
