From MSU News Service A team of four cadets from the Army Reserve Officers’ Training Corps at Montana State University placed third out of 77 ROTC teams from across the nation in a 10-mile running race held recently in Washington, D.C. The Army 10-Miler, sponsored by the U.S. Army, is a traditional fall event now in its 31st year.
This year, more than 30,000 runners completed the course, which begins and ends at the Pentagon, said Brent Reinhardt, scholarship and enrollment officer with MSU’s Army ROTC. MSU team members were Easton Albert, a mechanical engineering and technology major from Hamilton; Habib Mostefa, a microbiology major from Bozeman; Griffin Wigert, an industrial and management system engineering major from Petaluma, Calif; and Anthony Schmalz, an exercise science major from Hamilton. Jennifer Vranish, human resources technician with the Army ROTC at MSU and a major in the U.S. Army Reserves, accompanied the team and ran the race, as well.
