Hops & History: The Magic Ingredient is set for Tuesday, August 30th from 5:30-7:30pm. Join in to learn about the magic ingredient in question: yeast! This edition of Hops & History will feature Madison River Brewing Company. For centuries, brewers relied on a mystical process to turn a mixture of grains and herbs into beer and ale. As science and technology developed in the brewer’s profession, yeast was found to be at the bottom of this process and the propagation of specific yeast varieties became an international obsession. From making bread to brewing the nest beers, yeast is at the heart of the process. Admission to this event is $10 per attendee. This cost includes a $3 mug fee. Returning participants may bring their mug and pay only $7. This event is for those 21+ only. Now in its third year, MOR’s Hops & History program supports the Museum’s Living History Farm. Every month during the summer season, Hops & History brings a lively audience of adults to the Farm by pairing the Gallatin Valley’s brewing past—presented by MOR Curator of History, Michael Fox—with beer tastings from local breweries. New for 2016, MOR will welcome co-speakers for each presentation, exploring unique historical topics to complement equally unique local brews.
