Andy Frasco, Ghost of Paul Revere & Con Brio hit Big Sky
The Arts Council of Big Sky’s Music in the Mountains free summer concert series continues at Center Stage in Town Center Park.
Ghost of Paul Revere will follow on Thursday, August 24th at 7pm. Born on the banks of the Saco River, brothers in all but name, the group is Maine’s holler-folk band. A powerful, energetic, non-traditional American folk band that’s renowned for harmony fueled, heart-pounding performances full of songs with unique identities that remain undeniably the Ghost of Paul Revere.
They have shared the stage with the Avett Brothers, The Travelin’ McCourys, Brown Bird, Spirit Family Reunion, Darlingside, as well as members of Greensky Bluegrass, The Infamous Stringdusters, and Old Crow Medicine Show.
Formed around childhood friends Max Davis, Sean McCarthy, and Griffin Sherry, and joined by Matt Young on harmonica, the band has released full-length Believe, as well as two EPs — North and Field Notes, Vol. 1. Their next album is expected to be released this year.
Send the summer concert series off in style with the Latin-infused sounds of Con Brio on Thursday, August 31st at 7pm. The band is comprised of seven musicians with diverse backgrounds and a shared love for the vibrant Bay Area funk and psychedelic-soul sound pioneered by groups like Sly & the Family Stone. The group has since become a West Coast institution on the strength of their magnetic live show, with lead singer Ziek McCarter’s swiveling hips, splits and backflips earning him frequent comparisons to a young Michael Jackson or James Brown. The band released Kiss the Sun, their self-produced debut EP, in 2015. Their latest album, Paradise, is available now.
