Downtown Bozeaman’s mainstay the Ellen Theatre is forever ripe with big screen entertainment and the upcoming weeks are no different!
Here’s a look at what’s coming up in the beginning of August. Saddle up for a jumpin’ and jam-packed month as the 3rd Annual Summer Western Series continues. Kicking things off will be a screening of Jimmy Stewart in Winchester ‘73, Wednesday, August 3rd. Then follow stranger Clint Eastwood into a new town with High Plaines Drifter on Wednesday, August 10th. Later, on Wednesday, August 17th, James Garner is appointed sheriff in the comedic cowboy classic Support Your Local Sheriff! For more information and a full schedule of films, visit theellentheatre.com/.
Sponsored by Bozeman’s Western Café, all Westerns begin at 7pm and the Ellen Saloon opens for refreshments at 6pm. All seats for the Western Series are $5 plus fees. Giddy up and catch this Cowboy Train before it’s too late! Hee-haw! During the sizzling month of August, take a nice trip to the beach—but best do it from the air-conditioned safety of an Ellen Theatre seat. On Saturday, August 13th, The Ellen invites you into her bigger boat with a screening of the 1975 Spielberg classic, JAWS. Roger Ebert called it “a sensationally effective action picture” and The New York Times claimed it was “the most cheerfully perverse scare movie ever made!” All seats are just $5 and may be purchased at theellentheatre.com/. Wine, beer, and other refreshments—which may be brought into the theatre—will be available starting at 6:30pm, with the film scheduled for 7:30pm. Please note: Jaws, though rated PG, does contain violence.
