The-Idle-Ranch-Hands
The 71st Montana Winter Fair, under the aegis of the Lewistown Downtown Association is proud to announce the debut appearance of popular Missoula band, The Idle Ranch Hands, in Central Montana. The band will perform, Friday, January 29th, at 7:30pm at The Grand Hall of The Eagles. Tickets are on sale at MontanaWinter-Fair.com/.
Harkening back to a time when country music was the music for hard workin’, hard livin’ people, the Idle Ranch Hands play a brand of hard drivin’ electric honky tonk not heard since Bakersfield heroes, Buck Owens and Merle Haggard ruled the airwaves in the late 1960’s. Made up of current and former members of Russ Nasset & the Revelators, Tom Catmull and the Clerics and the Country Kings, the Idle Ranch Hands Band have the music pedigree, sharp looks and energetic style that the people crave! With Sam Nasset on electric guitar, Gibson Hartwell on pedal steel guitar, Tim Martin on bass, and Duke Kirschenmann on drums, the Idle Ranch Hands have gained a strong following in Western Montana and beyond. Expect to hear classic country and honky tonk songs made famous by Buck Owens, Merle Haggard, Lefty Frizzell, George Jones and others, as well as original country music and hot instrumentals! One thing is for sure, after seeing the western suits and hearing the hard country sounds of the Idle Ranch Hands, you’ll wonder if you’re back in a smoke filled juke joint, sipping 25 cent beers and watching the pretty girls waltz and two step the night away! For a closer look at Idle Ranch Hands, visit their official facebook and Reverbnation pages. Held annually in the Heart of Central Montana, the Montana Winter Fair is a celebration of agriculture, livestock and our “western way of life” here in The Big Sky and surrounding states. With roots of origin going back to 1946, the Montana Winter Fair was hosted every January in Bozeman from 1946 through 2002. In 2003, the fair moved to Lewistown, the geographic center of the state.
The Montana Winter Fair continues to grow each year with participants, young and old, from Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, South Dakota and North Dakota.
