World Wetlands Day Tour of the Indreland Audubon Wetland Preserve
February 2 @ 1:00pm
Join the Sacajawea Audubon at the Kingfisher Pavilion on Sunday, February 2 for a campfire, s’mores, and a snowshoe tour of Bozeman’s Indreland Audubon Wetland Preserve! This is a chance to celebrate our local urban wetland and meet other interested community members, and to get up close and personal with parts of the wetland that are never open to the public and usually covered by water.
The Indreland Audubon Wetland Preserve (IAWP) was set aside by Sacajawea Audubon Society to conserve and enhance a wetland community in an urban setting. The site will serve as an environmental study area offering education about wetland ecology accessible to all ages. SAS aims to document the effect of human influence on wetland communities and inspire the conservation, restoration, and enhancement of wetlands. SAS strives to have positive impacts on wetland conservation that extends beyond the Gallatin watershed.
