Montanans Urge Senator Daines to support EPA at Rally

On Saturday, September 23, one day after delivering over hundreds of letters to Senator Daines’ office, Montana Conservation Voters, Citizens Climate Lobby, Big Sky Rising, Gallatin Progressive Action Network and the Montana Wilderness Association will be hosting a rally in support of the EPA and to urge elected officials in the state to stand up to the proposed budget cuts. With the devastating impact of wildfires and severe weather amplified by climate change playing out across Montana and the country, the rally is to show Senator Daines the people of Gallatin County support the importance and need for the EPA. If Senator Daines agrees with this budget, drinking water, polluted areas in need of cleanup and public lands will suffer from these drastic cuts. The U.S. House already rejected Trump’s cuts to EPA, Daines must do the same. Speakers will include Representative Tom Woods, Representative Laurie Bishop, Kristen Walser of Citizens Climate Lobby, and Jenn Merecki of the Gallatin Progressive Action Network.
