Bring your family together at a Community Café table
Working late, no time for the grocery store, day care pickups, soccer practices, play dates, and other scheduling conflicts make mealtime feel like a chore? Grabbing dinner from a drive-thru window often seems like the best option – it isn’t!
According to an October 2014 article in the Journal of Pediatrics – “Eating together” is a mantra that doctors and nutritionists use regularly when they talk with families about eating healthy and maintaining normal weight. Children that eat regular family meals tend to, eat more nutritiously, and have better communication and connection with their families. HRDC’s Community Café is a sit down restaurant and offers an affordable alternative to the drive-thru. At the Café you can skip the dishes and the shopping, and opt for a casual dining experience with your family and friends where you set the price. The Café is known for quick, friendly service, delicious and healthy meals and our pay what you can model. The Café is the first restaurant of its kind in Montana, allowing the community to come together over food, and allowing customers the opportunity to pay it forward.
Our name comes from our desire to cater to everyone in the community. Thanks to North Fork Builders and their partners at Montana Paint& Finish, and Great Northern Woodworks; the Café does just that. We can accommodate families of all sizes at our beautiful, one of a kind tables, custom made for the Café. Bringing families and the community together at the table is an important part of the Community Café experience. These amazing tables make that possible. If you haven’t been by for dinner yet, come grab your seat at the community table, or if you haven’t been in to see us recently, come check them out!
HRDC’s Community Café is Montana’s first pay-what-you-can restaurant. Located at 302 North 7th, the Café is open nightly from 5 – 7 pm. Everyone is welcome and we hope families make the Café their “go to” restaurant on a busy evening.
