Bozeman Actors bring classic, timely drama to Museum of the Rockies stage
For the first production in the 2019-2020 season, its eleventh, Bozeman Actors Theatre presents Henrik Ibsen’s An Enemy of the People. Performances will be held October 10th to 13th, as well as Oct. 19th and 20th in Hager Auditorium at the Museum of the Rockies. Show times are 7:30pm Thursday through Saturday, and 3pm on Sundays.
When Dr. Thomas Stockmann learns that the famous and financially successful baths in his hometown are contaminated, he insists they be shut down for expensive repairs. For his honesty, he is persecuted, ridiculed, and declared an “enemy of the people” by the townspeople, including some who have been his closest allies. Bozeman Actors Theatre returns to MOR to stage one of the most frequently performed plays by the “father of modern drama.”
Gordon Carpenter directs an all-star cast featuring Kevin Asselin, Kirsten Daniels, Will Dickerson, John Hosking, Torie Laher, Luke Minton, Erik Pearson, Colton Swibold, Gabe Taurman and Kalen Watson.
“At a time when America’s political discourse is reaching fever pitch… the play’s heated discussion of just who should control the levers of power in a society, and whether the intellectually superior, forward-thinking individual or the mindless majority should dictate public policy, makes for savory meat to chew on after the curtain has fallen.” – The New York Times
Advance tickets for An Enemy of the People are $20 for general admission or $10 for students (plus fees) at www.bozemanactorstheatre.org/tickets. Tickets will be available at the door for $25 and $15, depending on availability.
