The 2nd Annual Bobcat Triathlon is scheduled to return to the Bozeman area on September 20 with the first heat commencing at 9am. This is a heated sprint distance triathlon on and around the flat MSU campus.
Swim 1000 yards (20 laps) in the MSU pool. We will have one 40 minute heat. All other heats will be 30 minutes or less. Swim counters will be monitor your swim pace. If you cannot finish your heat in the allotted time you will be pulled from the swim. You will be allowed to finish the race but will not be eligible for awards. Bike a 20K completely paved out and back on Kagy and Bozeman Trail Road. Expect a few steep climbs and a couple fast downhills. Pump those tires up to 130 psi! Run a 5K designed to be fun and promote engagement with the MSU students. The run course leaves campus and hits up the local the Gallagator trail, a crushed stone surface for the vast majority of its route, before making its way back to campus. Keep an eye out for the Bobcat!
Registration closes the Wednesday before the race, September 17th. The triathalon is limited to 250 racers, so it’s a good idea to sign up early. Prices for the race are $75 for an individual (increasing to $85 on August 17th) and $160 for relay teams (increasing to $170 on August 17th). Finally, this race would not be possible without volunteers. Positions are available for those interested.
