Bozeman Film Society continues its 2023 season with a screening of the critically acclaimed feature, The Fablemans. The event will be held at the Emerson Center for the Arts & Culture on Friday, February 10th at 7pm.
Part memoir, part ode to the power of the movies, The Fabelmans finds Steven Spielberg digging at the family roots that helped make him a beloved filmmaker – and proves he hasn’t lost his magic touch.
Starring Michelle Williams, Paul Dano, Seth Rogan, Gabriel LaBelle and Judd Hirsch, the film is rated PG-13 with a run time of 153 minutes.
The screening will follow with a special behind-the-screen look at sound mixing with Oscar-winning Clyde Park resident Ron Judkins. Having enjoyed a forty-year career as a Production Sound Mixer in the motion picture industry, Judkins has won two Oscars for his work on Jurassic Park and Saving Private Ryan, along with Oscar nominations for Schindler’s List, War of the Worlds and Lincoln. He is also the writer and director of the two independent films The Hi-Line and Finding Neighbors.
Following on Saturday and Sunday, February 18th and 19th, the anticipated Oscar-Nominated Shorts return to Downtown Bozeman’s Ellen Theatre with the 2023 slate. For the 15th season, Bozeman Film Society is thrilled to once again screen all three categories – Animation, Live Action and Documentary. The Fablemans screens at 7pm on Feb. 10th at the Emerson. Reserved tickets are $10, or $7 for MSU students and attendees 16 and under. Start times and tickets for the Oscar Nominated Shorts, set for Feb. 18th and 19th, are 6pm for Animation titles on Saturday, followed by Live Action at 8pm. Documentary selections are set for 2pm on Sunday. All screen at the Ellen. Wine, beer and concessions will be available prior to each screening.
