The 2015 Interchange Symposium is pushing the envelope in social, educational and musical events by continually reintegrating an arsenal of new concepts and human connections. Through an experiential remix uniting music, dialogue, makers, activists, entrepreneurs and expression, each step and swell brings a new experience by cultivating curiosity, education, sustainability & empathy. Non-profits gaining business skills, entrepreneurs gaining social responsibility. This arsenal will serve well as we descend upon the world like platinum-fisted pterodactyls, dropping artistic carpet-bombs carrying the seed of expression and social conglomeration. Crushing underfoot the banality of average events, flying high the mighty banner of unconventional creativity and blasting our mighty war horns across the battlefields of entertainment.
This year’s events will take place Friday, September 18th through Sunday, September 20th. Here’s a look at what to expect from this exciting slate of events. XChange will kick off the forum on Friday between 1 and 4pm at the Bozeman Public Library. This is a moderated public dialogue featuring storytelling and speakers touching on how they found their purpose. Topics this year include Sex Education, Renewable Energy, LGBTQ Equality & Religious Freedom, Police & Community Relationships, Veteran’s & Marijuana. The Remix Runway Show will follow on Friday between 6 and 10pm in Lindley Park. This free, contemporary style runway show features a variety show including entertaining projects and production from around the State. Food and art vendors will be on site along with a bar featuring multiple breweries and distilleries serving creative libations will be on hand to attendees 21 and over. VIP ticketing options are available at iaminterchange.com and include complimentary hors d’oeuvres hosted by 14 North, lounge and bar drinks. The main event of the weekend, the Interchange Summit, will be held Saturday the 19th. Last year, 30 activists from all across the political spectrum from around the state came together to push the envelope, challenge each other and demand more authenticity at the second annual Interchange Summit. This year the Summit is going to push the envelope off the cliff, challenge our hearts, blow our minds and create a space where authenticity is king by bringing together artists, activists, and entrepreneurs. An opportunity to come together in our differences, the Summit will create space to reach into the cookie jar of conflicts, conversations and questions that you were told you couldn’t have with people you never thought you’d talk to. It’s a social experiment; a social experiment to test our capacity for creativity, our capacity to change, our capacity to remix and our capacity to have a damn good time. Sandwiched between the Remix Runway show and the Kiki Garden Pary, the Interchange Summit is happening on Saturday, the 19th from 11am to 4pm followed up by a pig roast for Summit participants and a guest from 6-8pm. They’d love for the whole world to join us, but they’ve only got 50 spots saved for those artists, activists, and entrepreneurs ready to kick the status quo to the curb. Apply online before August 20th. Got questions? Contact Kiah Abbey at kiah.abbey-@gmail.com or Tate Chamberlin at tate@tatechamberlin.com. The Kiki Garden Party will close out this year’s symposium on Sunday the 20th between 10am and 12pm on the Bar IX patio. Hosted by the Nova Café and Bar IX, this Kentucky Derby style Garden Party pays tribute to the festival, featuring gospel music, mimosas & brunch to digest the weekend.
