Big Sky Resort’s 3rd Annual Rut Race will take place this
Labor Day, September 4th – 7th, 2015
The Rut includes elite runners from 15 different countries and 42 different U.S. states. There are four different races: The Rut Vertical k, 50k, 25k, and 11k.
The Rut 50k will gain about 10,000 feet in elevation and the 25k will gain about 7,500 feet in elevation. Runners will be tested on their off-trail performance as the course travels on ridge lines, single-track trails, rugged jeep roads and the terrain of Lone Peak and Andesite Mountain.
The Lone Peak Vertical climbs 3,600 feet over the course of 5 kilometers. This race ends at the summit of Lone Peak at 11,166 feet. The Rut 11k gains 2,100 feet and loops along Andesite Mountain.
