Formally known as Intellitard, Secret Recipe is a new cosmic and squishy bass music endeavor from Benji Hannus. A resident and founder of Oaklands Wormhole Wednesdays, Secret Recipe blends together a unique medley of sounds that weave together sparkling melodies and squelchy whomps with layers of psychedelic intricacies stacked over driving gangster rhythms. Having spent years honing his craft and touring along side other prominent upcoming artists Perkulat0r and Diversa under the name of Intellitard, Secret Recipe promises to serve up and deliver the fresh flavors you’ve been craving. Proper Motion was created to take that which we love most about music and reawaken it with the ever-expanding possibilities of EDM.
With a vibrant foundation in the passionate sounds of classic soul, producers Noah marion and Harrison Watkins have ventured to create a sound that is both cutting-edge and nostalgic. Strong dedication to electronic production and rich background in musical composition and performance spurred marion and Watkins to create Proper Motion in Boulder, Colorado in 2011. From the beginning, the product was an exciting and heartfelt sound that has since come to be called Future Soul. It is based on the idea that in this quickly changing, brave new future of EDM, there will always be the human core, exemplified here through soul music, that creates an emotional bond with what we hear, feel, and do. Local artists Dubuddha and Ampathy will be on hand to support this awesome night of music. Dubuddha explains his sound as, “Zesty panfried Bass Blappity Glitch, marinated in Purple Drank, toppled off with hints of Flußßit¥ Gloop and coconut water. I aim to create a conscious loving vibe, though I also like to mix it up a bit and drop some bass crunk as well. You will hear lots of organic sounds as well as electronic sound design, original vocals, and violin–to top it all off.” Chris Hutcinson, Oz, or DJ Ampathy is one of Bozeman’s strongest promoters, producers and proponents of the electronic scene in its numerous, eccentric, and vibrant elements.
Born in Australia in 1984, Oz moved to Bozeman in high school where he quickly adopted music into his life to be immediately absorbed remixed and explored through his severe love of the culture it feeds. At 14, he began playing with other musicians and throwing parties to the delight of his peers and any susceptible to the magnetism of communal sonic experiences. Developing his own identity and a home for electronic disciples in symphony over his career as a promoter, DJ, sound design alchemist, and now father, Oz continues to balance the scene and devotion with the hard work he has made his home.
