Zero Gravity Floating offers relaxation & R.E.S.T therapy in Downtown Bozeman
Managing the effects of constant sensory bombardment, screen time, and stress can be a challenge. The distractions of noise, light, smells, and other environmental factors can interfere with a person’s ability to relax. Restricted Environmental Stimulation Technique (R.E.S.T.), which uses isolation, sensory restriction and flotation to achieve a meditative state, can help instill calmness and promote deep relaxation.
Floating in highly concentrated magnesium-rich Epsom salt water can lessen stress and anxiety, relieve chronic pain, assist with smoking cessation and weight loss, stimulate creativity, help athletes prepare for big events, aid in injury recovery, alleviate fatigue, lessen heart disease risk, improve the effectiveness of physical therapy, and promote a feeling of general well-being. The benefits of a single float session can be felt for days or even weeks afterward.
Zero Gravity Floating, Bozeman’s largest float center, is a local women-owned business. The idea for opening Zero Gravity came after a family trip. The mother-daughter owners, Sylvia and Jessi Sparkman, visited a float center in Portland, Oregon, and were profoundly affected by the experience. Another family member found relief for the first time from 18 years of chronic pain. It became their mission to help others find the same kind of relief in their home community of Bozeman.
Zero Gravity has five flotation rooms, each with a private shower and dressing space. Four of the rooms contain state of the art flotation pods, and the fifth room has a spacious pool for people who prefer a more open experience, need a little extra room, or have difficulty entering or exiting a pod. The pool room is equipped with an ADA-accessible shower. All the rooms allow users to enjoy sensory restriction (especially light and sound) at their own level of comfort, with optional music, guided meditation, or chromatherapy.
Zero Gravity offers one hour and longer float sessions, and combination float/massage packages. They provide all the amenities necessary for a pleasant experience, including towels, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, float headrests, earplugs, hair dryers, and complimentary water and tea. They are open seven days a week, and sessions can be scheduled online at www.zerogravityfloating.com or by calling (406) 586-3390.
The facilities are designed for comfort, safety, and convenience. The team of thoughtful and compassionate professionals take pride in helping guests renew their bodies, refresh their minds, and revive their senses. While floating is intended to be a solitary activity, Zero Gravity can accommodate 5 simultaneous floaters, so friends and family can float and then and hang out together afterwards in the lounge. Bridal parties can escape the hubbub of wedding events and enjoy a time of quiet bliss together before or after the ceremony. Work or professional groups can center a team-building exercise around the shared experience of floating. Zero Gravity can offer an afternoon or evening of floating and fellowship for larger groups as well. While some are floating, the rest can enjoy board games, read, or engage in quiet conversation, as they choose.
Zero Gravity Floating is a sanctuary for improving quality of life. The staff is committed to providing a clean, calm, and welcoming environment for guests to enjoy and get the most from their flotation experience, whether they seek pain management, stress relief, sports recovery, improved focus, or deep relaxation. It is amazing how an hour of nothing can improve your day. •
