The Montana Chamber Music Society will present their innovative and variety-filled 2016 Winter Concert, Wednesday, January 27th at MSU’s Reynolds Recital Hall at 7:30pm.
Renowned electric jazz violinist Tracy Silverman, Montana’s own Philip Aaberg, superstar violinist Angella Ahn, and MCMS founder and Muir Quartet cellist Michael Reynolds will perform a wide selection of jazz works, followed by the immortal Mendelssohn D minor Piano Trio. Net proceeds from these programs support MCMS’s mission to present great chamber music performances throughout Montana year-round. Tracy Silverman, formerly first violinist of the renowned Turtle Island Quartet, tours worldwide as soloist and jazz innovator. Philip Aaberg is familiar to audiences around the world for his collaborative and solo work in many musical genres.
Angella Ahn, MSU Bozeman’s recently appointed Professor of Violin, has toured wordwide with the Ahn Trio, and Mr. Reynolds has for the past 4 decades toured the world’s great concert halls with the renowned Muir Quartet and as soloist and recitalist. As a member of the Muir Quartet since its inception in 1979 and as soloist and chamber musician, Mr. Reynolds has performed nearly 2,000 concerts throughout North America, Europe and the Far East, and he has performed with such diverse artists as Leon Fleisher, Menachem Pressler, Gil Shaham, Richard Stoltzman, Phyllis Curtin and Benny Goodman.
