Violinist Karen Gomyo, Symphony to perform Mozart’s famed composition
Let your local symphonic orchestra take you on a thunderous sonic adventure with the next showcase in its 2021-22 season. Bozeman Symphony will present Mozart’s “Jupiter” Symphony late this month. Performances will be held February 26th and 27th at the Willson Auditorium in Downtown Bozeman. The Saturday show will be held at 7:30pm, then again on Sunday at 2:30pm.
Music Director Norman Huynh welcomes violinist Karen Gomyo as the featured performer for these winter concerts. Repertoire will include Gabriela Lena Frank’s Apu: Tone Poem for Orchestra, Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No. 1 in D Major, and the centerpiece, Mozart’s Symphony No. 41 in C Major, K. 551, known affectionately as “Jupiter.”
Born in Tokyo and beginning her musical career in Montréal and New York, Gomyo recently made Berlin her home. A musician of the highest calibre, the Chicago Tribune praised her as “…a first-rate artist of real musical command, vitality, brilliance and intensity.”
Adult admission for Mozart’s “Jupiter” Symphony begins at $27 with discounted student tickets available.
