Montana Homegrown Radio moves into fall with a pair of brand new episodes! The Road Agents were featured on the show late last month. The band, composed of Jeff Peterson and Justin Ringsak, play acoustic rock n’ roll. They’re a guitar and mandolin duo people can groove to! Jeff and Justin are known for their danceable, original songs about firewood, larceny, and resolve.
Of the music they perform, Ringsak described during a recent interview with The BoZone, “real folksy Neil Young, Bob Dylan sort of ‘story songs’ [that are] a little more upbeat, something nice for folks to listen to. […] It’s definitely Americana/folksy but has a little more oomph to it. Although we can be all introspective and sad sometimes. Jeff makes ‘em cry every once in a while.”

Bozeman soul rockers DASH stopped by recently to talk about their just-released debut album, SUPER. Formed out of a love for light a fire under your ass, rockin’ soul music and a desire for honest and entertaining lyrics, DASH takes the stage with a passion for getting people out on the dance floor. The band brings their dance party vibe to any venue with a wild blend of funk, soul, rock, and pop. DASH is Kayti Korte (vocals), Ben Morris (vocals, guitar, keys), Dylan Crittenden (drums), and Carl Hansen (bass).
Last fall, resident musician Dirk Alan introduced Bozemanites to a great new way to experience local talent. Montana Homegrown Radio is an online independent musician showcase featuring different area acts with every episode. Presented much like a live broadcast radio show, each hosted episode includes an interview component, discussion, and of course – live music!
Previous guest artists include The Wind and the Willows, The Dirt Farmers, Quenby Iandiorio, Bridger Creek Boys, Red Glow Buffalo, Kate & the AlleyKats, Edis Kittrell, Dave Brinker, Kennedy Richards, Henry & Isla, and plenty more! Though these artists’ episodes have already “aired,” previous editions are always available for your listening pleasure 24/7.
Montana Homegrown Radio is hosted by Dirk Alan, a native Montanan who’s been in the music business for the last 40 years in multiple capacities. With a passion for music and helping his fellow musicians, Dirk provides a very laid back, fun environment so radio guests can be as comfortable and spontaneous as possible.
Montana Homegrown Radio serves as a promotional space for local talent and their many art forms – and they want YOU! Any musician with a story to tell and a song to sing is encouraged to apply for a guest spot on the podcast.
Visit www.montanahomegrownradio.com to catch up with the fantastic Montana musicians who have been featured thus far, or to submit an application for a future edition. Be sure to keep an eye out for additional guests as they’re announced.
