Michigan-based The Outer Vibe are set to rock the crowd, Saturday, January 30th at the Zebra Cocktail Lounge in Downtown Bozeman beginning at 9pm.
There is no cover for this 21 and over show. One of the sunniest acts to ever emerge out of Grand Rapids, The Outer Vibe like to think of themselves as a musical vacation, where everyone enjoys a bit of aural paradise. “Clint Eastwood drinking a pina colada at a Dick Dale concert” is how the band describes their 2015 full-length release Full Circle, a collection of songs they liken to ‘cinematic surf disco.’ Full Circle was recorded in collaboration with producer Brad Dollar (Grateful Dead, Keb-Mo, The National) and mastering engineer Joe LaPorta (The Foo Fighters, Imagine Dragons, Vampire Weekend). The studio was stocked with vintage amps and microphones, and all five members worked as a songwriting team to capture their energy and passion. Upon its release in May 2015, it was supported by a national tour, radio airplay, in 11,000 retail stores, commercial radio airplay in 5 midwestern states, and airplay on 200+ college radio stations. Dollar says “When I listen to the latest batch of The Outer Vibe productions, I feel like I’m on a vacation I don’t want to end. The guitars feel like a Cheshire smile on a sunny beach, the drums beat like perfect waves on the shore. Everything stays glued together with sticky-sweet vocals, trumpets sounding from the west, and bass sounds that walked down from another planet. All at the same moment providing reflection and rejoice.” Full Circle is a follow-up to their 2012 album Hoka Hey, with tracks featured on ABC News’ “Good Morning, America,” amongst many other national and regional successes.
