Thai Cuisine with Chef Kelly Walunis has been announced for the evening of Thursday, April 14th at the Community Café beginning at 5pm. The Café’s Culinary Arts Program will be hosting guest chef Kelly Walunis from the Community Food Co-op. Come out and enjoy some delicious Thai cuisine at Montana’s only “Pay What You Can” restaurant!
The menu includes: Thai Red Curry with Beef, Thai Fried Rice, Thai Pickled Vegetables, Bananas Poached in Coconut Milk, and Lemongrass Soup. A special thank you to Yellowstone Grassfed Beef for their generous donation of beef for the program. Thank you for putting the community in Community Café. The Community Café is a “pay what you can” restaurant where you choose the price, pay-it-forward or dinner’s on us. Serving healthy, well prepared food that meets USDA nutrition guidelines in a sit-down restaurant setting. This, say its customers, is part of what makes it a place they want to share and return to again and again. The Café is part of HRDC’s Emergency Food and Nutrition Initiative, striving to improve food security throughout the Gallatin Valley. The Café provides a restaurant style dinner service to anyone who eats regardless of their ability to contribute. It operates on a pay what you can model, allowing those who can contribute to pay it forward for others who cannot. In 2014, the Café provided over 50,000 dinners. Dinner is prepared by the culinary team, served by committed groups of volunteers lead by vening service coordinators.
