Yes, it is coming – just embrace it!
Jackson Hole-based Teton Gravity Research has been helping kick off winter in Bozeman for as long as the BoZone team can remember. Just about every snow-obsessed recreationist who has passed through the Gallatin Valley has enjoyed the experience of getting loud at the Emerson while waiting on the film to start. Over the last 15-plus years, the Bozeman venue has played host to a film screening and seasonal celebration on the heels of TGR’s world premiere, often with athletes on hand to help raise the hype factor.
While TGR is most commonly associated with their home base in western Wyoming, the company has deep roots in the Treasure State, beginning with co-founder Todd Jones’ tenure at the University of Montana. Finding itself filming here often in the time since, TGR included a memorable segment highlighting the Crazy Mountains in last year’s production, Far Out.
This year is no exception. The local premiere of new film Winterland comes to the Emerson on Friday, September 20th, with screenings at a family friendly 6:30pm and more carousing 9pm. In addition, TGR will bring their more intimate “WhiSKI Series” to town for the first time ever. Set for the night prior, Thursday, Sept. 19th, the event will be marked by a VIP screening of Winterland, along with an opportunity to get a closer glimpse into the TGR world. The evening will include a Q&A portion with the starring athletes and production team, a whiskey tasting featuring a selection from Park City-based High West Distillery, as well as gift bags for all attendees. The fun begins at 7pm.
Plus, they’ll bring their new snowboard flick Roadless to the Emerson on November 8th. The film stars Travis Rice, Bryan Iguchi and Jeremy Jones. Additional information for each of these events, as well as advance tickets, can be found by visiting www.tetongravity.com/Bozeman.
